Founder track record
Our History
From coaching to combat sports, media, IP & software
RaptorocK was not built from a four-year experiment. It is the latest evolution of a business model developed over nearly three decades.
From personal training and athlete development to combat sports, publishing, intellectual property, media and software, the underlying strategy has remained remarkably consistent:
- Build expertise.
- Turn expertise into systems.
- Turn systems into assets.
Founder experience
This is a life’s work.
RaptorocK MMA was co-founded in 2022.
The experience behind it was not.
Founder Janus de Lange’s career in coaching, fitness, combat sports, athlete development, media and business stretches back decades.
By 2015, historical business records had already documented approximately 61,530 hours of coaching services.
By 2026, his lifetime coaching experience had exceeded 100,000 hours and more than 600 students had passed through his coaching career.
RaptorocK represents the point where those decades of experience came together.
Approximately 61,530 coaching hours is a historical documented figure from the 2015 business records. The 100,000+ hours and 600+ students are updated founder lifetime figures as at 2026 and are not independently verified by the 2015 financial statement.

The Foundation
The commercial journey began with de Lange Personal Training in Sandton.
The business was originally founded in 1996 in Morningside, Sandton and, after a temporary closure during 1997, reopened in 1998.
The sustained operation that followed established the foundation for the businesses, brands and intellectual property that would develop over the following decades.

2009
The Move into Combat Sports
In 2009 the business diversified its coaching interests into mixed martial arts through TKOMMA.

TKOMMA developed fighters, sporting systems, media exposure and intellectual property.

2010
From Coach to Professional Fighter
In 2010, while operating his personal-training business, Janus de Lange competed professionally at EFC Worldwide.
The decision was connected to something larger than simply becoming a professional fighter.
At the time, he was also fighting to keep his personal-training business operating.
The experience added another dimension to a career already built around coaching athletes: the coach had stepped into the professional arena himself.
“I didn’t only teach people how to fight.
— Janus de Lange
I stepped into the cage myself.”
No fight record, opponent, result, event number or championship claim is asserted here.
One career
He fought. He coached. He built.
The same career moved through several different roles.
- Professional trainer
- Coach
- Professional fighter
- Gym builder
- Athlete developer
- Business owner
- Publisher
- Media creator
- Software developer
These were not separate careers.
Each stage contributed knowledge, experience, intellectual property and systems to the next.
2009–2015
From Knowledge to Media Assets
The business ecosystem expanded beyond physical coaching into publishing and digital media through SPQR Media.
Historical projects included:
- Mix’Fit Magazine
- WCF Magazine
- WINNING in MMA
- Mix’Fit Training Manual
- Nutri-Fit Nutrition Manual
Coaching monetised time. Media created reusable assets.

By 2015, the original personal training operation had evolved into a broader collection of interests spanning coaching, combat sports, media, intellectual property and other ventures.

Continuity
The name is young.
The experience is not.
RaptorocK was co-founded in 2022, but it did not begin with an inexperienced founder starting from zero.
It inherited decades of accumulated practical experience in:
- Coaching
- Strength & Conditioning
- Personal Training
- Combat Sports
- Professional Fighting
- Athlete Development
- Gym Operations
- Brand Development
- Media
- Publishing
- Business
- Intellectual Property
RaptorocK became the vehicle through which those accumulated skills could be combined into one modern organisation.

The Next Generation
RaptorocK MMA
Co-founded 2022
RaptorocK MMA was co-founded in 2022 by Janus de Lange and his then-wife, Miandi de Lange.
Together they established the original RaptorocK MMA operation and began developing the club, brand and community.
The model combined:
- Athlete Development
- Membership Revenue
- Combat Sports
- Brand Development
- Media
- Intellectual Property
- Events
- Community
Current RaptorocK era
2025
A New Chapter
Following the founders’ divorce in 2025, Janus de Lange continued the development of RaptorocK.
2025–2026
RaptorocK Evolves
RaptorocK expanded beyond the original MMA club model into a broader ecosystem incorporating athlete development, media, intellectual property, digital assets and software.
2022–2026
From Physical Assets to Digital Assets
RaptorocK Software added another layer to the model.
Traditional coaching is constrained by time:
One coach. One hour. One client or class.
Software and digital intellectual property can operate differently. Software can be developed, maintained, licensed, improved and reused without requiring the founder to personally deliver every hour of the service.
- Coaching
- Combat Sports
- Media
- Intellectual Property
- Software
- Scalable Digital Assets

Investor context
Why This History Matters
RaptorocK’s current business model did not appear overnight.
It represents the latest generation of an asset-building strategy developed through decades of practical experience in coaching, athlete development, combat sports, media, branding and intellectual property.
The technology has changed.
The principle has not:
- Build something of value.
- Own the asset.
- Maintain the asset.
- Let the asset continue creating value.
Founder experience + Execution history + Business experience + Combat sports experience + Intellectual property development + Modern software development = RaptorocK’s founder / execution advantage
An investor in RaptorocK is not investing solely in a business co-founded in 2022. They are investing in an organisation built on decades of accumulated industry experience, systems, relationships and intellectual capital.
